What is a Vehicle Export Clearance?
In order to combat the illegal trafficking of motor vehicles in the Southern African region, the implementation of a unique police clearance was agreed upon by the Southern African Regional Police Chiefs Co-operation Organisation (SARPCCO) in terms of Resolution number 15 of its 4th AGM in 1999.
Why do you require a Vehicle Export Clearance?
The purpose of the SARPCCO Vehicle Clearance is that the document serves as proof that a vehicle was not reported as stolen in a SARPCCO country where it had been registered before it was taken to another SARPCCO country for purposes of registration. SARPCCO Member Countries

- A completed DMV 5 application form which is available on our website.
- Vehicle registration number.
- Country/City where the vehicle is registered.
- A copy of your ID and your passport.
- Proof of address not older than three months.
- Proof of ownership of the vehicle, or if it is still under finance, an original purchase contract.
- Certificate of any tracking devices or Data Dot devices fitted to the vehicle.
- A copy of the valid car license.
Once we have received your payment and all your documents, we will proceed to submit the application to the Department of International Relations and Cooperation.
As soon as your application is successfully completed, we will:
- Email you a scanned copy of your Vehicle Export Clearance for you to have a look if all the details on the document are correct.
- Courier the original document via DHL
